In the case of packaging, there is always the question of sealing seam quality. For the first time it has been possible to detect even a hair in a sealed seam with a robust measuring technique developed for industrial use. The system allows to check the seal seam in micrometer accuracy at high test speed.
In contrast to all conventional systems for sealing seams, our system provides clear information about the quality of the seal seam in the current production. We find also a hair as well as oil sprays, wrinkles, cold-weld seams and so on. Independent of the coating material, our system provides information, even when it comes to the porosity in the seal seam. Whether or not an opaque film protects the product or a transparent film, a container with a sealed surface in a clear box or with a transparent cover, a cup-lid or an aluminum can play no role. We optimise our equipment to your product and adapt it to your task so that you can provide your customers with the highest level of security.
Inspection characteristics for sealing seam inspection
The LCI (low coherence interferometry) and the OCT (optical coherence tomography) method are robust methods at the beginning of industrial integration. Measuring with light is no longer a challenge, it is a Technology that is ready for industrial use. The sealing of tubes, bags, containers or other packaging requires procedures which are fast enough to derive the requested criterions in the running production. In addition, the geometrical resolution requirements are high and the packaging materials are very different.
With our procedures, we test transparent and opaque sealing seams, regardless of the material and the number of films. Normally, we use the OCT method for testing. Additional procedures are used for complex test tasks (metallic or multi-folded packaging).
